1. Cleaning Your Coop Takes Minutes, Not Hours
The easiest coop to clean. Ever.
Cleaning a traditional wooden coop is messy and time-consuming.
Wood absorbs moisture, droppings stick to surfaces, and bacteria hide in cracks.
Nestera coops are made from durable recycled plastic (70% recycled material) with smooth interior surfaces.
That means:
• Hose it down in minutes
• No absorbed moisture or smells
• Fast drying surfaces
Remove the roof, perches and nesting boxes in seconds and clean the entire coop in under 10 minutes.
Less cleaning. More time enjoying your flock.
2. The Last Chicken Coop You’ll Ever Buy
Most wooden coops last only a few seasons before they begin to rot, warp, or fall apart.
Nestera coops are made from thick recycled plastic panels designed to withstand rain, sun, snow and daily use.
That’s why every Nestera coop is backed by an industry-leading 25-year warranty.
Buy once. Enjoy decades of chicken keeping.
3. Say Goodbye to Painting, Repairs and Rot
NO paintings or repairs
Traditional wooden coops require constant upkeep:
• Painting
• Sealing
• Repairing rotten wood
• Replacing cracked panels
Nestera coops require virtually zero maintenance.
The recycled plastic panels are:
• Weatherproof
• UV-resistant
• Rot-proof
• Built to last for decades
Just clean it occasionally and your coop will look great year after year.
4. Healthier Chickens, Happier Eggs
Healthy chickens need a clean, dry and well-ventilated home.
Nestera coops are designed with your flock’s wellbeing in mind:
• Rounded perches for natural roosting
• Elevated ventilation for fresh airflow
• Quiet nesting boxes for stress-free laying
The smooth plastic construction also reduces places where parasites such as red mites can hide compared to wooden structures with cracks and joints.
Happy chickens are healthier chickens — and healthier chickens lay better eggs.
Happy chickens = Healthier chickens
5. Save Time, Money and Frustration
Get more time with your flock
Stop replacing cheap coops.
Many backyard chicken keepers start with a cheap coop… only to replace it a few years later.
Nestera coops are designed as a long-term investment.
You save money by avoiding:
• repeated coop replacements
• repairs and maintenance
• wasted time cleaning difficult wooden coops
Instead, you get a coop that stays clean, durable and functional for decades.
Spend less time fixing problems — and more time enjoying your chickens.

Wooden Coopfrequently asked questions
-
Are Nestera plastic chicken coops predator-proof?
We really think so! We've not received a single report of a predator getting into one of our coops. Our ‘chew-resistant’ coops are made from 70% recycled plastic which is really tough, and the ventilation holes are far too small for other animals. The rear door is lockable and the front door is reinforced with rotating metal slide, which makes it difficult to open by lifting, unlike classic vertical sliding doors.
-
Are Nestera plastic chicken coops red mite-proof?
Unfortunately, nothing is 100% red mite-proof. However, Nestera chicken coops are cleverly designed to be extremely red mite-resistant! Red mites are tiny, and live in cracks and joints in poultry housing. Unlike wooden chicken coops, ours are made from solid 70% recycled plastic and created to ensure there are very few suitable places for red mite to hide. We recommend sprinkling Diatom powder around the coop when refreshing the bedding, so any mites present are quickly dealt with before they can multiply.

Won't my chickens cook in a black Coop?
This is the question we got all the time, and the answer is simple... NO! Provided the coop is placed in shade, which is recommended for all chicken coops regardless of colour or material during really hot days. This is such a common question that we asked Dr. Daniel Cervenkov, Professor of Thermodynamics at the University of Oxford. He explained that once a coop is out of direct sunlight, colour has only a very limited effect on temperature. The two factors that matter most are shade and ventilation. Nestera coops are designed with large ventilation openings to promote constant airflow, helping prevent heat build-up inside the coop. Just as you wouldn’t leave a dog sitting in direct sun on a hot day, any chicken coop — wooden, plastic, light or dark — should always be placed in shade during warm weather. Many Nestera coops are used successfully in very hot regions such as Texas and Arizona, where summer temperatures regularly exceed 100°F (38°C). When positioned correctly with shade and good airflow, they provide a comfortable environment for chickens. In short: shade + ventilation matter far more than the colour of the coop.
-
How many chickens can live in a Nestera plastic chicken coop?
For our standard range of three coops, we offer each in three sizes: Small, Medium and Large. The Small is designed for up to 2 large birds, 3 medium hens or 5 bantams, the Medium for up to 3 large birds, 5 medium size hens or 9 bantams and the Large suits up to 5 large fowls, 8 medium size hens or 15 bantams. The Wagon is suitable for up to 5 large fowls, 6 medium size hens or 15 bantams.
-
Can I install an automatic door opener on a Nestera coop?
Absolutely! We offer our own Nestera Automatic Door Opener as an optional extra with all our coops. Discreet pre-drilled holes are included on each coop for easy installation.
-
